i feel as though you are me and i am you and everything you have said is eveything i felt. (almost everything) im so proud of you, i loved listening to the voice note i think maybe a compliment like "you're so human" might've been taken like an insult a few years ago but you are just so real and dear to meeeee. its been a while since iv'e read one of your article but hearing your voice the laughter the response to your own words and just the acceptance that you are where you are is the type of interaction i crave from people on this website. i loved everything about this thank you for your time and your words.
omg, namatayi this was absolutely so sweet and the feeling is mutual! the words “you are so human” is most definitely not an insult to me but rather more endearing and kind — thank you for embracing my humanness with love. i hope all is well on your end babes <3
aw, this was so sweet! unfortunately, i don’t have the guts to reread this. which is disheartening in a way since this is my most vulnerable and popular piece i’ve written thus far, lol. but i thank you so much for taking the time to read my words, for commenting, and being so kind to my feelings in this work <3
Ugh, i love the self-love and self-becoming journey. He’s to all the black women that know they’re drop dead gorgeous despite colorism, racism, transphobia, or anything else
middle school is actually one of the most heinous and treacherous times of a young black girl’s adolescence. and i’d even say gen z has a very particular perspective and experience of what that looked like. it’s admirable tho that in such a time of confusion, vulnerability and discovery you were so in tune with yourself. it shows in all of your pictures. it’s almost as if the more we run away from who our spirit teams are pushing us to be the more they claim us in real time. it’s in your human nature to be eclectic, creative, artsy, intuitive. it’s literally written in the sensuality of all your photos. Thank you to those past versions for making you who you are today 🫶🏾 and thank you for the voice recording, it was a lovely experience
omg! this was one of the SWEETEST comments i've ever received before <333 thank you so much for always showing me so much love and for being so thoughtful in your words. i wish we lived near each other so i could give you a big hug. sending my loving hug virtually! i'm so glad you enjoyed this piece. wishing everyone who experienced a traumatic adolescence softness and much love (and you as well) <3
thank you ❤️ i just finished reading your last piece, and it was really great! i loved your perspective on how black hair is a complex experience within itself. it feels as though almost everything in our existence or way of being is political. in this odd way, free form loc’ing my hair as a dark-skinned black woman feels very political to me… anywho, thank you for reading my work and sharing yours. wishing you much luck on your newest journey to loving the unaltered you!
First of all, all versions of you had phenomenal style 🤭. Also, it's interesting how the times when you were true to you and the sapphic in you came out, it was manifested in your photos
All in all, this post made me reflect about my journey into coming into my lesbian existence (in tandem with my loc journey). This was beautiful. Thank you for sharing ✨
omg, i’m amazed that you pieced this together! what a great eye, lol! when i was going through old photos of myself, i found it so ironic how i would go in and out of wearing my natural hair and dressing more masc presenting then would revert to my masks again. it’s interesting to know this was my natural or “organic” state all along. but thank you bb! i’m so glad you enjoyed this piece and it in return, made you reflect on your own journey(s). wishing you much love and joy <3
omg, do you still live in italy? i want to go back now that i feel tremendously better. but anywho, i’m so glad this peace reached and touched you in some way. thank you for reading my words <333
oh wow, i’m so grateful my writing was able to touch you in this way. i took my time writing this, but i’m so happy for the release once and for all. thank you for taking the time out to read this. i don’t know you or your story but wishing you much love <3
reading this was worth every fucking second
